Burping at night?

Hi ladies,

Are you burping your babies after night nursing? Sometimes I'm too lazy to get a burp out of him, and I definitely don't want to wake him, but I don't want a bellyache either. I've heard that breastfeeders don't need to burp as much, but mine always seems to have a big burp if I try hard enough. He's 3 mos 1 wk.

i found that side-lying, if i started nursing her as soon as she indicated before any fussing, she'd be ok without burping at night. but i also figured out how to burp her, just sorta laying her on her tummy across my hip/belly, me still laying on my side.

I stopped burping ds after a couple of weeks. He seemed to easily expel any gas just with a little movement after feedings if there was any & never seemed to be suffering. Go by your baby's reaction.

At night if my 11 wk old wiggles around after a while after nursing i know he has a burp bothering him so i will burp him. Usually after he nurses we are both sleeping and i forget to wake up and burp him, so i rely on him wiggling around or turning his head side to side as a way to know he needs to burp. If he is sleeping peacefully then it really isn't bugging him at all and I'll let him sleep.
