I thought it was a really sweet idea! I never saw anyone breastfeeding when I was growing up and thought all babies were fed with bottles.
I watched a news clip and the broadcaster thought it was "weird," "creepy" and not appropriate for a young girl which is really sad. I mean, isn't it great for a young girl to learn how to nurture a baby and be aware of what her body can do?

Just saw it on the net. LOVE IT! I searched and the only place I found that you can reserve one is on ebay. It would be shipped at the end of October.
I watched Fox News's segmenton the doll and was very disappointed at their responses. Even the doctor on the show commented that he thought it started the maternal instinct to early and related it to teaching sex ed in first grade instead of seventh. Implying that he thought both were inappropriate. UGH!

I didn't see any news articles, but just read a blog about it on the Washington Post site:
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/par...ding_doll.html
Obviously, I totally disagree that it's creepy or weird - I just think it's unnecessary. I fully believe my 2yo will pretend to nurse her babydolls when I'm nursing her new little brother in a few weeks, and I imagine lots of siblings of nursed babies would do the same. And they don't need a doll to pretend to do it...

: I was pissed off for several hours afterwards.
: I have seem plenty of little girls do this on their own. It's their nature to nurture and want to feed a baby, but is it really necessary to have a special doll and a bra complete with little nipple-buds? I think not!
