Another "What Else Do I Need for Newborn Stage?" Thread

Hi Mamas,
I'm slowly but surely getting my NB stash together and would love to get some feedback as to what I am missing, need more of, etc.

I and tend to have smaller babies (DD was 6lb 15oz full term and DS was 7lb 4oz at 37 1/2 weeks) so I am guessing that this new LO will probably be in NB size dipes for more than a few weeks. I started CDing DS at 6 months, so am all set with Small and Medium Pockets once the baby gets bigger. I am just a little clueless about the NB phase.

Here is what I have so far:
12 Kissaluvs Fitteds size 0
3 Clover Fitteds size XS
A dozen prefolds that have dark green edging (these were given to me by a friend...not sure if they are newborn or small size...any clue? )
3 Thirsties covers size XS
1 Bummis Brite Cover size NB
1 Imse Vimse organic cotton cover size NB
A wet bag for my diaper bag
2 hanging PUL diaper "pails" (the kind that hang on a doorknob and can be tossed into the wash with dipes)

So...I know I need Snappis and if the prefolds I have are too big, I probably need NB size prefolds, right? Am I on the right track? Is it reasonable to think that once the baby outgrows the size 0 fitteds he'll be able to wear size Small Fuzzi Bunz or will I need something for in-between? Do I need more fitteds or covers? I'm sure I am forgetting something. TIA for any advice from some BTDT mamas!

You are on the right track! I would make sure you have newborn or xs prefolds, and plenty of them. Maybe a few more covers too.

If you're going to use cloth wipes, you'll want at least a couple dozen of them.

Ditto PP. Dark green pf's are generally infant sized, so you may want to get some newborns. I would just measure them first so check for sizing before you order so you know you are getting what you want. 12-18 would probably be enough if you are planning to wash every other day.

5 covers is ok. Plenty get by on that. But if you want a little more convenience, more is nice.

I like having 2 wetbags for my diaper bag, one always seems to be in the wash when I need to go out.

Wipes, yes. Snappi, yes. I have 3 and that has been a good amount.

Maybe some hemp doublers for nighttime? That helps us a great deal once babe is sleeping for longer time periods.
