Does your LO pee smell? or is it diaper stink?

My husband says that our ds's pee smells. I don't think we have diaper stink and I sort of smell it but can his pee smell without there being diaper stink? Should I strip them just to see if it fixes whatever my husband is smelling. It does not smell ammonia like fyi.

it's probably just little boy pee. i don't know why, but it smells worse than girls' pee does.....our DS has stinky pee too!

I sometimes think ds's pee diapers smell like cheerios.
We don't eat cheerios but I think you know one reason why.

Doe she smell it stronger in the morning when the it might be more concentrated?

It's pee. of course it smells! In all seriousness though, if it doesn't smell like ammonia, it's probably not diaper stink. I've noticed that even adult urine smells stronger after eating certain foods. If in doubt though, I say strip them. can't hurt!

My DS is 4 and wears diaper for sleeping at night. In the mornig when we take it off, Oh My Goodness!! The smell makes your eyes tear! It is so strong.

If it's not ammonia, it's probably fine! Some foods may make the urine smell stronger, but it's just pee. I wouldn't worry about it.
