Please help me curb the constant WHINING

I seriously am going to lose my mind very soon. My 33 month old daughter who is very verbal and has talked well for a long time suddenly doesn't speak, she whiiiiiiines all day long! Nothing in her little world has changed that I am aware of.

I am a SAHM, she cosleeps, is eating well, is healthy...

I pretend that I can't hear her, tell her I only understand words and not whining, ask her about her feelings and why she wants to whine. I have no idea what is going on with her. Usually her whine turns into a cry if I don't respond to her.

She has also been VERY mommy lately. She wants me around rather than dh, doesn't want to go to my parent's house unless I'm staying(which is unheard of, she adores them). I'm at a loss, any ideas?

I would say for whatever reason she needs some "refilling of her cup" and perhaps some more control over situations. Try some more playful time with her(I know that can be difficult when you're a SAHM) and let her direct the play. Let her have choices when possible and this phase will pass

Everyone talks about control and filling the attention cup at this age and I think that's true, to some extent. It can be an age when we forget they are still little and need lots of attention.

However, I also just think it's a darn whiny age, at least for some kids. I think they experiment with the whiny voice to see if it produces any effect (even negative attention is better than no attention).

Anyways, for me I have a birth defect and I just can't hear it. I have explained to my son I am unable to hear his whiny voice. It seems to have helped a fair amount although now I get the:

Hand on my arm
"Mommy, may I say something?"
"Yes love"
"I love you"
"I love you too."
"I love you soooo much... now may I please have another cookie? You are my best mommy."

*sigh* the ante continues to be raised...
