x-posted in Vegan and Vegetarian living
My father, who is older, wants to go visit an old friend who lives in the Dublin suburbs. Since dad is in his 80, easily flustered, etc he needs someone to go with him, and it is likely to be DS and I.
DS and I are vegetarians. As well as being a vegetarian, I am very lactose intolerant, and avoid dairy as much as possible. I also have no gall bladder, so I can't handle greasy food either.
Last time I was in Ireland, there was very little vegetarian food, and practically nothing dairy free and vegetarian. I haven't been to Ireland in many years (around 20,) and I know stuff has changed (20 years ago, it was pretty hard to find veggie food in the US too.) However, I am still nervous that I will have a hard time finding food I can eat. Eating when travelling is always an issue for me.
Any tips from veg*ns in Dublin?
TIA

. I have found lots of options here! I haven't eaten out here at all but, soy milk and yogurt is available in every chain super market... as well as organic produce, which tells you there is a market here. I'm not sure if restaurants offer it but you could pick up the little boxes if you really wanted it. I don't think a traditional pub would offer a lot of choices outside of traditional pub food. Although, if it's in the center and really touristy it probably would. Dublin has loads of cool restaurants and it is very diverse so you could try something more modern for dinner and go to the pub for drinks.
