3 year old won't nap without nursing

He's down to bedtime and naptime, but I'm REALLY ready to drop the nap time nummies. He could gnaw away for an eternity! How do I get him to nap without his precious NN-NN's? He does very badly without a nap, so dropping that isn't an option.

Well, he just turned three this week. He doesn't really understand much about that other than "Ouch, all done nummies"!

At night he nurses, then I just lay next to him until he falls asleep, but that method doesn't work during the day. There is too much to see. DO I just do like Supernanny does for bedtimes, and keep putting him back ib his bed until he stays? Has anyone else had success getting their nurslings to nap without nursing?

DS was night weaned a few months before napweaning - so i began pretending it was night time.

I went through ALL the mothions and words of night time the total "routine" brush the teeth, put on Jammies, cover windows so it's as DARK as possible and then turn out the light. it didn't take long for him to be happy with just falling asleep beside me, playing with my hair. (as he does at night)


so if you don't mind your bed time nursing then falling asleep - you might try it for nap time too.
