How long can breastmilk sit out

If I gave dd a bottle of breastmilk and she does not finish it how long can it sit out before it is bad. There are times when it takes about a half hour or so to feed her with bottle and I wanna make sure that it wont go bad. but what is the max to

I think a half hour is absolutely fine for it to sit out. According to kellymom.com, it can remain at room temperature for 6-8 hours (!) although I'd personally not drink a cup of milk if it had been sitting out for that long.

Once baby has drunk from the bottle, I think the longest 'they' say to keep it is 2 hours. Bacteria get transfered from baby's mouth to the milk. Breastmilk that has not been drunk is a totally different matter and is good for hours like the PP mentioned.

thank you for the site. I never knew what to do with bm if she wouldn't finish it
