Thinking of relocating to Livingston MT

We have a possible job opportunity *knock on wood* that would bring our family to Livingston. From what I can tell, smaller community, mountain town feel - right up our alley But, just looking to see if anyone as prevailing opinions.

I've done some research and it looks like there are some reasonable CSA/farmers market opportunities. Anyone have specific recomendations?

On food, is it hard to do organic well in Bozeman/Livingston?

If we make it up in the next couple of weeks anything we must see/do? My husband is an adventurer and loves wilderness so we will likely try fit in a hike.

Everything I have found says there is an answer for what we are looking for there but somehow think it's all too good to be true. We really want a place we can comfortable call home.

Thanks!

Hi and hopefully welcome. Let's see, Livingston is a small town, but it is vy beautiful. There's so much to do around there hiking wise I couldnt' even begin to start, maybe you will want to check out Yellowstone, the entrance is about 1.5 hours away from you.

THere is a ton of organic stuff and locally grown is vy strong. There's great farmers markets in Boze...where you would want to go for your costco/target shopping if you wanted to do that kind of shopping.

We have a small organic garden and a good friend who supplies us with the fancier stuff. It takes time to learn to garden in this climate but it's not hard, just fun if you ask me

Good luck, I think you will like it here. Living on the front range in co I don't have to tell you about living in the rockies. Best of luck. Chico hot springs might be a fun day trip too..

Livingston is a wonderful place! Here's a couple links for you to check out:

It's such a small town, with quite a bit to offer actually, and of course the typical Montana attitudes... which I generally consider good. Even the old timers seem to live and let live. Get ready for some wind! That would drive me crazy it's so constant.
There's art, lots of local involvement, good food, and the Absorkas and Jellystone are minutes away. I don't know a thing about the schools tho.

Have fun visiting!

I lived there on and off a few summers and it's the best little town EVER!
