I would love to frame some art in dd's room...any ideas of kid's books with neat pictures? I am especially drawn to some of the vintage artwork I've seen in books I find at thrift stores, etc. Thanks!

I love Eloise Wilkins art. I actually lucked out and found a huge portfolio of poster-sized illustrations at a library sale a few years back.

Eric Carle is an old favorite as well.

Vera Williams does some nice stuff. I really like her illustrations in More, More, More Said the Baby.

I fell in love with children's book illustrators while browsing the Storyopolis web site: http://www.storyopolisfineart.com/home.php?site=F

Some favorites of mine: Alison Jay, Giselle Potter, Maira Kalman, Chris Rashka

Someone I know used pages from the book Duck and Goose by Tad Hill to decorate her daughter's room. It went well with the green and yellow theme they had going.

Graeme Base's Anamalia is great for this. I wanted to do framed art of his for the twin's room, and just never got around to doing it. It would have been very cool. But then, I was hung up on the idea of destroying a book to make a framed piece. The librarian in me just wouldn't have it.

If you like vintage, you might be able to get some inspiration from this Flickr Group.

Rene Cloke & Mabel Attwell are two of my favorite vintage children's books illustrator.
