Hey preggo mamas, I have a question. When you are both starving and nauseated at the same time, which one do you cater to? Eat anyway? Or do you bypass food and take fluids instead?

Eat, definitely. I find (this pregnancy so far anyway) that eating makes the nausea better. I eat very slowly at first, making sure it's okay.

I'll always have something to eat because that often will help with my nausea.

hmm...maybe I should try that...sometimes I don't even want to look at food, though because of the nausea....I always wonder if this is just the beginning and if it will get worse. I haven't actually thrown up, though...

i haven't ever thrown up either. when i have nausea, sometimes it's just from being hungry and eating SOMETHING helps. but sometimes it's cause i'm tired. drinking something always makes it worse, ugh.

I try to force myself to eat anything, it seems to help. I'm going to get some ginger tea today...

I eat since that almost always helps the nausea unless my gut tells me otherwise... chicken almost always makes me feel like barfing in my first trimester.

I read the other day that ginger helps! Today I did eat a bit when I was nauseated and it did seem to help so long as I didn't fill myself up.

Ginger usually helps and I think actual ginger is the best. I have some crystallized ginger and I've been looking for ginger ale. You wouldn't think that would be so darn hard to find, you know?

Im in the middle. I eat - im hungry, I need to. Food itself, when in my mouth is fine. However, I feel queezy regardless - especially when making food. ( I feel this is a great sign for me, especially being so early on!) - last night alone I nearly threw up just making myself some pasta...my mouth got all watery and my throat got all tight...it was...interesting! lol I find my 'sickness' gets worse by the evening. Ginger things I hear are great - but I have gone off sweet stuff ...seriously! lol - and most ginger things are just too sweet for my tastes. I am finding plain oats to be satisfying. (and root beer, strangly enough - and I don't normally drink carbinated drinks, but its gooooood lol)

Eating definitely helps me, especially protein. Every morning I force down a nice breakfast of eggs and meat (bacon or sausage). Lately it's been eggs scrambled with bacon, tomato & cheese. It sounds absolutely revolting - I really have to force myself to cook, but once I've eaten it all is right in the world & I'm feeling great throughout the morning. Same with dinner.

From my experience crackers/breads/carbs only feed that sicky cycle. Stay away!

When I was having early m/s Ginger Kombucha helped a LOT. It's a miracle! Again, sounds revolting... but it's good for you!

I'm in the eat category, but not if I have to cook. The smells of cooking are just too much for me, so we're eating a lot of bagels and veggies.

The only time I am not feeling queasy is if I am shoveling food in my mouth LOL! :
