I am returning to Mothering after a period of being gone.
I will reintroduce myself and my neices and nephew!
I am Erika, and I am helping my mother in raising my neices and nephew.
We orginally got custody of them after their mother passed away. They were under the age of three ( the youngest was 7 weeks old).
They are growing and thriving and just amazing everyday!
Alyssa is the oldest and has the same heart condition(Marfan's Syndrome) that my sister and my dad did have. She is 10 years old and going into the 5th grade. She is enrolled in TKD and enjoys it so much!
Zane is 8(will be 9 in October!) and has ADHD but is a blessing! He enjoys TKD and baseball and will be going into the 3rd Grade this year! He is in the advanced and gifted program at school!
Daleigh is 7 and has ADD and is just a joy to raise! She is also enrolled in TKD and will be entering 2nd Grade. She loves arts and crafts and is such a crunchy little hippie child!
Our family has had some ups and downs here recently but we all seem to be adjusting well. (Two deaths just in this year of 2009)
My SO is Summer and we have been together for 8 months. The kids truly love her and we all enjoy having our family time. We are looking to buy our own house, we are engaged as of last week, and will be TCC in December to expand the family!
All of the kids will be returning to school for the next year as of tomorrow(8/10/09), so our house has been very busy in the last few days.
I look forward to making new friends and learning lots again. This place is so great in support and change!
