Well, the fluid leak stopped last night, probably around 9 or 10 pm. No labor yet, though some fits and starts. Midwife came over this morning. Vaginal strip test for amniotic fluid was negative (unsurprising based on the fact that the leak stopped about 12 hours before then). So, though I'm sure it was a fluid leak, and midwife isn't really doubting me, I'm not officially on a time line.

The real negative is that baby is now definitively posterior So, midwife suggested a "brisk crawl around the block" : followed by a nap, as well as parsley tea (I'd never heard of that, but she says it often starts labor). My mom drove in last night, but she can't just stay and wait, so we'll see what that turns into.

What a fascinating end of pregnancy this is turning into. At the moment I'm in pretty good spirits, but I am getting frustrated at times, worried that I'll never really go into labor.

It will be any day or hour now! Hang in there! I know that has to be hard to get excited about the baby coming and then have no signs anymore. But she WILL come, much sooner than later!Hey, I could still be five weeks away from having this baby, if that makes you feel any better

Well, my mom drove back home this afternoon. We had a nice day having her around. DD got to sleep with her last night which I know they both loved (and it was nice to have just me and DH in our bed for a random night). Fortunately, my mom had all natural births herself and though I'm sure she was disappointed, she was very positive about the whole thing. I'm very glad we didn't call a ton of people to tell them baby would be here soon.

I've had minimal contractions today. However, baby has definitely changed positions again. This morning my belly button was suddenly flattened, and the last few days I'd been looking at my belly and feeling it and fearing that she was posterior. Now my belly button is back in how it has been the whole pregnancy and the shape of my belly looks quite different. I'm not expecting her to be in perfect position, but I don't think she's posterior anymore :

I'm guessing that my labor, which had really done some serious starting up Wednesday and Thursday night, stalled out when she got into the posterior position. I'm hoping that in the next couple of days (or tonight ) things will really get going again.

Thanks for all of the support.

You are doing wonderfully. Stay strong and allow the birth to unfold just as it was meant to.
