Mother-ease Sandys vs. Kissaluvs for a newborn

Part of my newborn stash is going to be fitted diapers (the rest prefolds and flats). I do love the Kissaluvs and Swaddlebees velours, but they're pretty pricey for a diaper that isn't going to last long.

I just realized that ME makes a newborn-sized Sandy's diaper and I'm wondering if anyone's used both Kissaluvs and ME Sandy's and can tell me whether there's any advantage to the Kissaluvs at the newborn size, which are at least $3 more per diaper, which will add up. I know that MEs are very well thought-of, so I'm inclined in that direction. I know they also make one-size, but I have plenty of medium and up diapers already - so I can buy some sized diapers and avoid the bulk for this new little babe.

Any thoughts? There are a whole bunch of different materials for the Sandy's, and while it would be most economical to go with the cotton, I suspect I'll end up with a couple of bamboos too...

Many thanks

I debated between those two as well. I think the Kissaluvs would have a wider re-sale market, but the newborn Sandy's seem to sell well too, especially over on the forum at the Motherease website. We used Kissaluvs last time, and after 4 weeks I had to use doublers because they weren't absorbent enough. I just used Kissaluvs terry wipes and then doubled the time we were able to use them. I have used Sandy's since ds was 6 months old and have been very pleased with how they've worked so I imagine the newborns would be good, too.

I believe that the NB Sandy's are more absorbent than the Kissaluvs. While Kissaluvs are popular, many folks complain about the lack of absorbency after the first few days.

Cheaper, more absorbent, and made in my home province? Ok, so I'm sold

Thanks!

kissaluvs were better choice for me.

i have used both.
ME were more absorbent but not bulletproof in the newborn size. Which is what you need with newborn poo. ME fabric is indestructible but once you outgrow the size, it doesnt matter much since they wont be used.

the leg elastic was the key difference. it was softer and gripped the leg better with Kissaluvs.
my son outgrew them at 3 mos but i was able to sell them at 70% of purchase price.
I had a much harder time selling my ME's.
