I need zero fat meal ideas ...

I have a medical condition which is temporarily requiring me to avoid all fats, regardless of type, dairy (a little yogurt is ok), any substantial amount of raw fruits or vegetables, and anything spicy. Needless to say ... I'm hungry! Does anyone have any totally non-fat, totally cooked (i.e., no salads) meal ideas to help me out a little? I've reverted to mostly plain beans and rice and a side veggie, which is getting just tremendously boring, and pasta with a non-fat sauce, which just can't be that healthy in bulk.

This is one of my favourite blogs, and she should have some good ideas: http://blog.fatfreevegan.com/ - The archives are well organized and go back for years!

Good luck, that sounds like a difficult position to be in

Wow that is tough. So you can't eat any meats, because they all have some fat in them? I can't really think of anything you can eat other than veggie soups/stews and the beans and rice, which you're already eating. Beans do have a little tiny bit of fat in them naturally though. I'm just wondering the extent of "no fat". Are nuts out because of the fat? What about eggs? I hope you aren't needing to be on this no-fat diet for long, because I can't believe it would be too good for you long term.

Black eyed peas and greens is a very hearty no fat dish. To make just start to cook the peas, when they have been cooking for about 15 minutes throw in a ton of garlic (whatever a ton is for you). When the peas are just about done throw in some chopped leeks, and a lot of chopped greens (I like to use collards in this or kale), and season with salt and pepper to taste. It is hard to believe that this is fat free. The cookbook that I get this from says that your body will thank you for giving it this dish....and I definitely have found that to be true. My belly is so happy when I give it this :

Check out Eating for IBS by Heather van Vorous. Your dietary restrictions sound a lot like what I'm doing to manage my IBS symptoms -- little to no fat, little to no insoluble fiber, nixing the dairy, alcohol, coffee.

OK, thinking about what I've been eating recently for meals (this is a recent dietary change for me, so I'm still figuring things out).

Breakfast:
toast and jam
oatmeal with honey or maple syrup, fruit
eggs cooked in a nonstick pan (if you can handle the fat in an egg yolk, otherwise, eggwhites), either sunnyside up or muddled with herbs, maybe some fat free soy meat replacer or a tofu scramble mix (I say muddled because scrambled, to me, has milk in it)
ginger tea with honey

Lunch:
wrap with hummus and cooked, marinated, or pickled veggies
spaghetti muddled with egg, pepper, and garlic salt
fat-free or low fat veggie dogs
cranberry juice (one of the few that works with IBS)

Dinner:
couscous and an oil-free stir fry (stir fast)
quinoa salad with cooked beans and veggies
open-face sandwiches with cooked swiss chard, onions, squash, etc. and a light mushroom broth for sauce
grilled marinated portobello mushroom "burgers"

Wow, I know how hard that must be. Every time I do a liver/gallbladder flush/cleanse, I have to not eat any fat for the whole day that I'm doing the flush (so that will allow bile pressure to build up for a successful cleanse), and I'm always starving that day. I always eat just a plain baked potato and plain vegetables.

Oh wow, that blog looks perfect ... the chickpeas and mustard greens currently on the front page look really good.

And thanks everyone for the great suggestions! (<-- Me avoiding multiquoting everyone.)
