how to wear a baby with legs together

My baby girl is having some diaper rash issues and is really tender down there. (btw, talked to doc, have a plan for treating it, etc. so this questions is only for the next few days or so, we hope) I usually carry her in a baby carrier in/out of the house, but the legs-apart positions for carriers is uncomfortable. And since it hurts, she wants to be carried more! I have moby wrap, hotslings, baby bjorn, and ergo. Is there a way I can carry her with her legs together? She is 8.5 month old and about 21 lbs so I can't really put her in the sling like a newborn. I'd appreciate any tricks if they exist. If not I will still be holding her without the carriers, of course, but I will just get more achy.....

the only way i know of to carry babies safely with their legs together is with a korean podaegi or chunei. you might be able to rig something up with a couple of sheets, but since it's only going to be a couple of days i'd just try to limit her time in the carriers, and stay away from the Bjorn which is likely to cause the most pressure on her crotch since it doesn't put her in a sitting position.

I actually have a store bought korean podaegi! I only know how to use it in a back carry similar to ergo (baby straddles my back). Can you tell me how to do it with legs together- curious!

I still carry my 18 month old in a sling like a newborn sometimes - -not lying down, but lying up, if that makes sense -- head at my chest level and feet straight down, with the sling cupping his bottom and back. Depending how much he wants to look around v. how much support he wants, the sling can go all the way up to his neck or really just from his thighs to his waist.

I can't think of how I'd do a legs together back-carry -- unless you do a swaddle type thing like with a young baby -- 8.5 months old might tolerate that.

ETA: the straight up-down sling carry is going to stress your back more than if the baby is straddling your waist, because the weight is more forward and less wrapped around your own body, but still much better than holding in your arms.
