I've been thinking about this one... I wanted to share my experience, which was that my second labor was only somewhat similar to my first. For some reason, I expected it to be a carbon copy, just faster. That was not the case!
This time around I felt very confident and even excited to go into labor, so right off I was in a different state of mind when it started with some good contractions and a little bloody show. My contractions built really steadily and slowly. I closed my eyes, focused inward and reminded myself to keep all openings open (especially my mouth/cervix) and soften around the contractions.
All that to say, I think labor is probably very different each time... What you need to remember is that you did it once, you will do it again, and keep your eyes on the prize: every contraction brings you closer to your baby! welcome them! Fear will only slow you down... You can do this, Stacey. You've been excited about a newborn for months now. And remember the best part: the EXTREME relief when they put that baby on your chest. AH. HEAVEN. AMAZING EXHILARATING RELIEF.
Also, if that hip is affecting baby's position, I'd definitely see a chiro to get it straight before labor.
So excited to hear more stories...
