Just curious

Does he/she love it and help with laundry/stuffing/buying? Or do they refuse to use cd's? Or something in between.

My dp likes the idea of cd'ing and the "green" aspect of it. He also likes that I have so much fun buying and using them. He'll happily use any type of cd I throw at him- from snappi'd pf's to pockets.
However, he doesn't help with laundry etc. He would if I asked, but he doesn't know the system If he had to do all the work, there's no way he'd cd!

DH is definitely a convert, and is quite rude about sposies now. It took me 11 months to convince him, but for our new little one, we'll be almost entirely CD (in fact I anticipate some grumbling when I buy a backup pack of sposies).

But he doesn't know the system at all. I'll have to coach him with our new baby - DD was a toddler and didn't get changed as much - and usually when I was around. This time, he'll get much more hands-on experience, and I don't think he'll mind at all.

He hasn't ever done a wash, but that's simply because laundry is really my "thing" - he's happy enough to do it, but I quite enjoy it and he's not complaining. Again, with a newborn I expect he'll get more opportunity!

DH was not enthusiastic when I told him I wanted to cloth diaper. He went along begrudgingly. After a few days he was a fan and is now a strong supporter of using cloth. We used the disposables at the hospital and when we got home he actually said the kissaluvs were easier to put on.

He also does almost all the diaper laundry because there are many stairs between the diaper pail and the laundry room and its hard to navigate while carrying DD.

He's reluctant to use CD. He'll use them if he can't find any disposables, but he'll almost always go for a disposable if available. He does not do any of the CD laundry. I prefer to do it myself so that I know the correct detergent, wash cycle, temp, etc is used. It isn't a burden on me to do the laundry and stuff the diapers. At least I know they are done properly and don't sit dirty too long.

he doesnt do the dipe laundry, but he doesnt do any laundry.
he's from peru where his mom hand washed all his and his siblings dipes. when i was pg and told him that i'd like to cd, even though it will be a little more work, he looked at me like i was from mars and said "but we have a washing machine!'

Like a week after we found out we were pregnant, DP came home one afternoon with a huge bag of random pre folds and covers that a friend gave him and was very proud. I was a bit overwhelmed and freaked out to already have baby stuff laying around, but slowly started researching CDing and accumulating more supplies. However DP does not do the laundry/ change many dipes and more than once I have found DS in a sposie after Papa has looked after him while I went for a run, but DP is the first to tell friends that CDing was his idea love him

I voted doesn't care either way, but he does like that we cloth diaper simply because it's cheaper.

I voted "likes"

DH likes that we CD for both enviro and economic reasons. He also appreciates that DS is wearing "clothes rather than napkins". He does not help out with the wash, mostly because I've got the system figured out. He does help with stuffing from time to time and he is very helpful at putting the folded dipes in the drawer in nice, orderly stacks (I usually just shove them in the drawer willy-nilly)

I voted the 2nd option. He doesn't LOVE it as in, obsess over new diapers, get excited when they come in the mail, etc. are there DH's like that?? But he's a fan. He changes diapers, he will wash them (if I let him), put them away. To be honest, though, if I said I wanted to sell all the diapers and buy disposables from now until our 2 yo is using the toilet, I don't think he would care. I, as a SAHM, change the vast majority of diaper, wash them 95% of the time, and like most everything else related to parenting - my opinion/decision trumps all. No but really, he has never been one to question using cloth diapers - in fact, when our first was born 8 years ago he much preferred the diaper service prefolds and pro-wraps over newborn disposables. But all in all, I really don't think he cares or gives diapering much thought (like some cloth diaper obsessed mamas ) He very much goes with the flow.

ETA: I guess I could have voted 1-3. So, the 2nd option is probably most accurate.

He likes it, and will help me hang dry and fold dipes. If it saves money, he's in!

Yup. DH says sposies are easier. and, all things being equal, he would rather use those. but all things AREN'T equal. He thinks the amount of trash created by disposables is obscene and he loves not spending money every week.

He changes lots of diapers and does all the laundry. smile. I really *heart* my husband.

DH is in full support and helps with laundry when needed. He said he'll never use pins though, only snappis.

My DH likes the cloth diapers. He'll use them. We never bought any sposies for my DD. The only time she wore them was the 3 days after birth in the hospital, and even then we had some cloth ones with us.

DH doesn't do CD laundry, though he will dump a full wet bag into the soak cycle if I am incapacitated and we're almost out of diapers...

All I had to do was show him how much money we are saving with the cloth : he's onboard

My DH was totally on board with everything. Helped with washing, folding and everything.

DH (and all of his 5 siblings) were HB'd and CD'd. If he had his way I would have done them both w/ DD (but I was too stubborn)!

He'll do the wash and he does almost all of the diaper changes. I'm the one who buys new fluff.

DH really dislikes sposies, too. He tries to avoid putting stuff in the landfill if he can help it.

That said, he's not exactly gung ho about poop, no matter where it is.

Other - It was DH's idea to CD, he mentioned it a few years before I got pregnant. (And I'm the one who thought he had lost it. ) Now on the occasion when we had to use disposables (during a cross country move a few years ago, then again recently during a month long road trip) he grumbles and complains about the sposies until we get the kid(s) back in "real diapers".

My DH definitely likes that we CD and recognizes both the health and cost benifits, but he doesn't do the washing. I know he would if I asked, but he doesn't know how to do it right, and I'm picky ! He has done some stuffing and changing with our pockets, but if he had his choice, he would rather me do the stuffing. But then again, I'm picky so I'd probably rather di it myself anyway, for the most part.

Bill was a champ with using/changing and folding. Would shop for supplies if needed.
But I handled the soiled items and the washing. Which was fine since I was home during the day and he worked. It was a tradeoff of responsibilities.
We had a positive cloth diapering expereience with our children.
