I'm an OB nurse, and my husband brings our 6 month old son to me to nurse at lunch time.
Yesterday, I was sitting in the break room, visiting with a friend and DH while I nursed. One of the resident MDs came in to talk to my pal about a patient. She saw the babe, came over to look over my shoulder at his face, and said, "Aw, what a cutie! Whose baby is that?"
I sort of froze for a sec before responding "oh, he's Elizabeth's baby, I'm just nursing him so she can finish her lunch." and laughed. No response, blank stare, and she left. I wasn't trying to be mean...I thought she'd have a "d'oh" moment and laugh with me, but no such luck.
When she left the room, DH asked, "is that one of the doctors???"
