Powdery mildew- do I need to pull the whole plant?

Some of my squash has powdery mildew. I was out of town for a month, and my husband was watering for me, but he didn't know that he wasn't supposed to water at night. Now there's lots of powdery mildew!

I've been pretty diligent about cutting off as many of the sick leaves that I can, cutting them close to the vine. Sometimes, I remove a whole section of the vine. However, one plant has mildew all the way at the base of the vine. There isn't any sign of disease on the squash...yet...do I need to pull the whole plant? It can spread to the other plants too, correct?

No, get a spray bottle and add 2 tbsp baking soda and fill w/ warm water. Spray early morning or evening., never in mid day when the sun is hot. Reapply as needed.
