After school activities for a three year old

What does your PK3/4 year old do once they arrive home from school?

If DS does not attend the afterschool program, I am at a loss. I do not want for him to come home and watch television. I think that he will take tennis lessons two days a week, we will probably visit Chik-Fil-A one or two days a week to play, but I would like other options. TIA

We have library dates every week - check out if the public library has a preschooler program. A special art project day could be on the schedule, too.

If I still lived in the city, I'd take my preschooler on a different bus route every few weeks to get a sense of the different neighborhoods - but that depends on your other childcare responsibilities.

We also do lots of library stuff, we did Kindermusik for a while.. this year we are doing Karate, but it is only weekends.. the Karate schools here though, will pick up from school if you enroll the kids in afterschool programs as will the YMCA..

I did not expect the library to offer any programs after 3pm, but the branch that we will pass in the afternoon offers a 4pm story and craft hour. Thank you for the suggestion.

I am not looking to enroll him in any classes if DS does not attend the afterschool program. His school offers karate, computer, cooking, foreign language, soccer and a myriad of other classes.

If we choose to utilize the after school option, we might consider karate.

The library is a great option. DS gets out of school at 2:45. By the time i make it through carpool it will be close to 3. We prepare for bed at 6m so I need activites that will keep me sane. DS is so busy that he drains me of whatever energy that I have left at the end of the day/
Thanks!
