Tetanus Scare?

My 8 yr old dd - not vaxed - just stepped on a pc of metal in a horse pasture that cut her foot - kind of at a sideways angle - not too deep and it did bleed quite a bit at first, which I encouraged by squeezing it. We then cleaned it really well, rinsed with alcohol and applied triple antibiotic ointment.
Dh insists she should be fine bc it bled. Anything else we should do?
Thanks very much.

imo you did everything necessary and then some.

I would not worry at that age at all. They bleed too easily and really can't get tetanus anyway.

Any more questions?

Sending her healing vibes.

I would just keep it clean, but don't smother it with antibiotic ointment all the time. Let it get some air. I would not be worried about tetanus

I agree! I would only use honey to dress the wound. It is the best antibiotic you can use.
