Re-waterproofing PUL

I made the mistake of using Bacout too frequently with my FBs and now the waterproofing seems to be failing on the inner lining of the PUL.

I've found a couple of spray-on type waterproofers but am worried about the chemicals breaking down over time in the wash and redepositing on the fleece, which would be next to my baby's skin. Is that a valid concern? I have no clue what the manufacturers use to waterproof PUL to begin with. Does anyone here know?

I really need recommendations for a product I can use to rewaterproof my dipes, please.

Thanks!

PUL is a polyester with a poly-urethane laminate (P-U-L) adhered to one side of it. I'm not sure if you could get anything to spray on. That would be good to know.

Well, that does make sense. I feel a little silly having asked. Thanks.
