Hit me with low/no sugar breakfast recipes!

Hello all....

I am in desperate need of some new breakfast recipes. How many times can one do smoothies, eggs or oatmeal??? Too many, if you ask me.

I personally eat no sugar but the kids do...but I'd like them to eat less. I can't think of many things to make for breakfast...seems like I'm always cooking them oatmeal while making myself a smoothie.

I'd love for you to tell me what your family (with little ones) loves to eat for breakfast that has either really low or no sugar.

Breakfast casserole - you can put anything you want in. Mine usually has sausage, hashbrowns, eggs and cheese and I put in whatever veggies I have.

make a giant batch of mini-quiches and freeze them, lots of different combos -- red pepper & feta, mush. & cheddar, etc. just pop them in the microwave or toaster oven to warm in the morning, you can even make them crust-less if you want...

yoghurt & frozen berries -- my kids love this!

make a big batch of various pancakes on Sunday -- blueberries, choc. chip, etc. and cook and cool and freeze in small batches, then they're toaster ready -- you can also do waffles...

bagels with cream cheese

toasted tomato sandwiches

make a batch of healthy muffins -- you can make ones that use applesauce instead of sugar! chock full of nuts (protein) and fruit and pull out the night before!

sometimes when I make bacon or sausage for Sunday morning brunch, I cook extra to do bacon & tomato sandwiches Monday morning or the sausage rounds to do Egg McMuffin-type things with a fried egg on an English muffin... or use one of my premade pancakes to wrap around a sausage link for 'pigs in blankets' for breakfast!

I've never made them myself, but a friend of mine does a batch of homemade, no sugar, cereal bars once a month and has them in the freezer for easy breakfasts...

that's all I can think of for now, but then again my kids love smoothies and toast with some sort of nut butter! easy peasy!!!

My mainstays for breakfasts are eggs - they are incredibly versatile and can be eaten a dozen different ways. They're also full of healthy protein and fats and will stick with you longer than a piece of toast or a bowl of oatmeal.

Egg muffins - basically crustless quiche, add meats, veggies, cheese, etc.
Egg custard - eggs, cream, a touch of honey and some fruit.
Soft boiled - growing up soft boiled eggs were always served with butter and corn flakes (all stirred together). I still love them this way.
Steamed - A couple eggs cracked into a custard cup, steamed until solid, topped with butter and tabasco
Poached - growing up they were poached in milk and served over toast. Now I poach in water and serve with brown butter... maybe some good sourdough toast to dip in them.
Hard cooked - chopped up on top of buttered toast, or eaten straight with a sprinkling of salt, doesn't matter.

And then of course you have your traditional fried/scrambled, with or without added goodies. Omelettes, mixed scrambles, stuffed into a tortilla or between toast, etc. Quiches, fritattas, casseroles, even bread puddings/baked french toast. The options with eggs are numerous.
