cost of CD vs. disposable in newborn stage - Page 2

24 infant prefolds, 2 snappis and 6 covers = $127. Vs. over $200 for 2 months of disposables. Get the new Thirsties Duo wrap size 1, which will last to about 15-18 lbs, and the infant prefolds will last the same time, and you have diapers for 4-6 months for $127. Not too bad!!!!!

In shy of two weeks w/ 18-22 changes per day we went through $80+ of sposies, not including the 3 free packs we got from the hospy. We are obsessive about dry hiney. So probably closer to $100ish. This was our 1st child, she was too small for even preemie pf's. As soon as she grew into them we switched to cd's. We used pampers new baby swaddlers or something I think.

My DD didn't hit 18 lbs until closer to a year. Wouldn't that be amazing...!

Perdita,

If you're in the market for used diapers in Ottawa, there's a cloth diaper swap on August 29th from 12pm - 1pm, there are lots of confirmed buyers and sellers, and lots of great brands up for grabs (I'm offering the space and organizing the swap, I make no $$$ from this, it's a good will event). PM me if you want further details.

Just FYI, Little-Lions has IPF at $13 a dozen... I just ordered what I think is a HUGE amount of dipes for less than $100. (6 dozen + a cover and some snappies)

Plus if it doesn't bother you you can always buy used for the stuff you won't use long one sites like http://diaperswappers.com/ . I just bought about half my stash on there and were starting out kind of late with DD at 15 months old. But I saw so much small and new born stuff on there and great prices.
