Has anyone used "Labor Of Love" Hypnosis for childbirth?

I put an add on freecycle.org yesterday in search of a used copy of hypnobabies and got a response for a really sweet mama offering me this, plus a CD called Earth Mama Labor Companion and 2 Earth Mama Hot Spot Labor Socks and some Earth Mama Labor Ease Tea, all brand new, never opened!!!!

I cannot believe how sweet she is to offer all of these things, and am SUPER excited about it! I would love any input on whether or not you've used this program and how it did/didn't work for you!

Thank you!

Hi, Mandy!

I looked into Labor of Love awhile back, and it's not as good as something like Hypnobabies, but it does look more complete than HypnoBirthing. It covers much of what is needed to be prepared to give birth using hypnosis. The reasons I chose to go with Hypnobabies instead were, among other things:

1. There was a great deal of talk about "lying around all limp" by the few testimonials I could find. That was exactly what caused me to experience complications during my first birth using a combination of other hypnosis methods. Not being able to remain comfortable while moving around freely and using all the other natural childbirth techniques led to a much longer, more difficult and dangerous birth for myself and my baby. I liked the idea of learning "Eyes Open Childbirth Hypnosis" from Hypnobabies, and found that it made a world of difference for me during my births.

2. There is no attempt to incorporate even basic natural childbirth information into the program. Even if a woman IS very well-informed, it is very useful to learn how to blend the hypnosis techniques and natural childbirth information to really maximize safety and comfort throughout the pregnancy and birth. Hypnobabies does that, but Labor of Love does not.

Not a bad approach, especially for free! But its also not as complete as Hypnobabies, so if that is what you really want to do, it may not fit your needs.

Thanks so much for your response! I think I'll still try to find someone out there generous enough to let me borrow their homestudy course of Hypnobabies, but maybe start this program in case I don't....

We have literally NO money right now, so as much as I'm sure Hypnobabies is worth the cost for me to purchase it, unfortunatly I can't!
