What size snaps should I put on my diapers?

I am trying to make my own cloth diapers, and I am currently debating whether to go with hook and loop or snap closures. If I order a snap press ($$$!!!), what size resin snaps should I put on them? Also, if anyone wants to weigh in on the hook and loop vs. snap debate, please do so. I appreciate any help you might have to offer.

Woo hoo for making cloth diapers! For snaps, the most commonly used size for diapers is size 20 poly resin. Some people also use size 16 for newborn size diapers, but its not necessary.

I prefer snaps over hook n loop in every diaper pattern I've tried except for one where I prefer the hook n loop. I seem to have better adjustability with snaps than hook n loop.

I use size 20 snaps and also wide velcro. My one side diaper covers go all the way from newborn to size 6 diapers. They are lined with PUL and I use all kinds of fun material and prints on the outside. I donate them to the hospital for sick children.
