How do you keep your carriers organized?

I have a few MT's and a few wraps, and they are always lying around everywhere. My cats think they are beds or playthings, depending on their mood, and they get wrinkled, and I feel like my house is disorganized. So I need some suggestions on where to keep them.

Where do you keep your carriers, and how do you keep them neat?

Well, I don't have cats...but do have kids that do what your cats do! They drag them all over the house. I have a lot of woven wraps and they become blankets, tents, mountains, you name it. And my mei tais are used like ropes...oh dear. I've started to put them in a boring place, like the baby's changing table. If I keep them anywhere that they play, then they are fair game.

I keep all of mine at the front closet on the top shelf. That way when we are going out I can just grab the one I want and either throw it on or in the van.
I used to be like you and just have them all over the place and the kids would drag them everywhere. Since moving them up there though I am a lot more organized.

i bought some inexpensive wooden racks at Lowe's, and put them up on the bedroom wall. each one has like 4 pegs, perfect for hanging a carrier from. they're off the ground so the kids (and animals) don't mess with them. and when i'm done babywearing i can move them lower and use them to hang kids coats or hang hats or scarves or something from.

i do always keep at least one carrier permanently in the car, and one in the kitchen hanging on a hook by my keys so i don't have to run upstairs when i'm in need. but everything else hangs neatly on the hooks. i just instituted this system about 6 months ago, and it is *so* nice to know where everything is, be able to see it all, and have it clean and not all wrinkled when i want to wear it!

I have one of those over the door coat hanger things inside the closet door in ds's room. That's where all my carriers live - hung up. Makes it easy to grab one off a hook and run out the door.

My wraps are all folded and in a basket near the front door. Ergo lives in the car. Ring sling is sort of rolled up in the basket with the wraps. Water sling is in the drawer with swimsuits. Pouches are in their storage bags since I never use them. Mei tai, Beco and Scootababy are strewn on the backs of the sofas since they get used multiple times a day.

We have a row of pegs in our coat closet, so I hang them from that so I can grab the one I want easily as we're leaving (although my favorite, the Beco, is pretty much always in the car).

I also have an over-the door hanger with 10 or 12 hooks. carriers go in small drawstring bags that get hung up. slings just get hung by themselves to avoid lots of wrinkles. it's in my laundry room, right near the garage so I can easily grab a sling and go.

I have two places for my carriers and I split them like I do my clothes... I have the warm weather stuff for a while, then the cold weather stuff when the climate changes.

The stuff that is "out" at the time goes in a wall hanger thing. you can see it here

It is called the "Big Eye Wardrobe" CX2201. It has hooks for my ring slings and a huge "shelf" area for the other ones.

The ones that are not "out" I have in a tote in the kid's closet.

I slip each one around the top of a coat/clothes hanger and hang them in the coat closet right by the front door. Although at any given time there is one in my car as well, in case I forget to grab another one.

old thread, but good topic! Anyone else have some storage ideas? I am at a loss since some carriers come in a storage bag thing, and some do not..
