How dilated to feel the head?

I think I'm in labor. Lots and lots of pressure and contracting. (Baby is hiccuping constantly from the contractions).
DP checked my cervix and said he can feel the rim of my cervix and fit about 4-5 fingers inside, and on the inside he thinks he can feel the head (whatever he feels has a pulse!).
If anyone knows how soon you can feel the head, please let me know!

sounds like that babe is well on it's way :
you don't have to be fully dialated to feel the head.

OMG! Happy birthing vibes to you. Sounds like a head to me. MWs can usually feel the pressure of the head on an undilated cervix. It sounds like he's feeling the head and the pulse in the soft spot.

I hope by now you are holding your baby and this info is way too late but I have been looking at this link http://www.movebirth.org/ from the UC board. It's pretty interesting.
