Dealing w/ diaper rash and pocket dipes?

DD keeps doing these midnight poops on me. Either I catch it and change her and she's up for two hours afterwards, or I miss it and the next morning she has a horrible diaper rash. This morning was really bad, her whole diaper area is inflamed.

I use fuzzibunz exclusively and I know you're not supposed to use any diaper creams with them. Adding a prefold inside just seems crazy to me, it's just way too bulky. What else can I do? For today I put her in a 7th generation sposie so I could really pile on the diaper cream, but I'd like to find some solution that lets me use my CDs. Disposable liners maybe?

Flushable liners.

the best diaper rash cream is breast milk which is compatable with fuzzibunz and anything else!!

Really? I know breastmilk is great for healing, but her skin is so raw, I feel like she needs the zinc to be a moisture barrier. Have a lot of y'all used breastmilk alone with success for diaper rash?

I second BM, it's wonderful for so many things. I even put it an my sunburn, my scratched cornea, acne, chapped lips, you name it. Scientists have found stem cells in BM so I say rock the Ta-Ta's!!!

You could also use fleece liners. They help to wick away moisture and then you can use diaper cream. Go to a thrift sore and buy a fleece blanket, cut it up any way you like, no need to sew, and you are good to go.

I use fleece liners when my DD gets a diaper rash, haven't had any problems with our FB's doing that.

my second child had an awful rash and we tried everything - finally BM which was tricky as I was not pumping so my DH held DS legs up and I expressed the milk onto his bottom!! It healed with a day and 4 years later my HD still asked for BM every time he gets a little cut or something!!!

side note: I don't think BM is very good for a yeast infection so make sure its not that

good luck!!

I'm having the same problem with my DS, he's been getting red/raw testicles from what seems to be the wet/damp diaper (I change him often enough I think). Only thing that clears it up is Sudocreme. I'm no longer BF'ing so that's not an option. Maybe I'll try a flannel liner/barrier? I already use a doubler for extra pee absorption. Any other suggestions?

Make sure it's a fleece or raw silk liner.

Wow, neat! I'm pumping today anyway so I'll set aside some for the rash. The sposies/desitin combo isn't working well anyway; she gets more rashy with sposies so I think it's cancelling out any help from the diaper cream anyway.

I don't think it's yeast, as it happened directly after a missed poop that was in there all night. Seems like a poop reaction. I'll try BM and if that doesn't work, we'll go from there. Gotta remember to put her down naked for naps too, I keep forgetting that one.

I use flushable liners if ds is rashy. We also use sposies at night so we will put a lot of cream on at night if it seems like he had a "rashy" day

We use Weleda diaper cream and I have to say it works GREAT for us. It lasts a long time too. Ds just turned 2 and we had to buy a second tube (as in one tube lasted us 2 years!)

WOW. I tried BM, and I have to admit I was skeptical- her skin was just so raw, and I was worried it would get worse overnight without some kind of barrier cream. The next morning it was significantly less red. Cured within 2 days or so. I applied BM with a little square of cotton at every diaper change, fanned it dry with a magazine, put her in a dry fuzzibunz. NICE!

Thanks so much, EarthMama and Jojo! :
