Is this normal? (TMI inside...)

It's been a week since I had my c-section, and in most respects I've been healing nicely. However, bowel movements & gas is getting increasingly more painful. This morning the pain had me buckling over. I'm not constipated, actually close to the opposite, but it still hurts horribly when I go and has a constant ache when I'm not.

Anyone else have similar issues after a c-section? Did things get worse before getting better?

TIA!

Hmmm... I remember being in a lot of "digestive pain" for a few weeks following the c/s. I was certainly still taking things like Gas-X at 4 weeks pp (that one I remember since I had Dh run out and get a new bottle at like 2am).

How if your diet? Have you introduced any new foods or cut back on things you normally eat? Maybe add more probiotics and plain yogurt, perhaps some more gentle fiber (like oatmeal), and see if that helps? If not, I'd give the dr a call. Post op gas pain and digestive problems are pretty common and they should be able to tell you if you're in the "normal" range or in the "let's check" range.
