Panic attacks? (and a bit of a vent)

Sigh. We bought a house and are having work done, and things are just not going well. We had a dud inspector, and we keep finding more things wrong that he did not catch. Our savings is being depleted.

I am now having what I'm guessing are panic attacks. I just feel my blood pressure shoot up, adrenaline start flowing, and can't seem to calm myself down. Also seems to happen at bedtime, too, and then I get wicked insomnia, and being tired makes it worse, and makes the pattern hard to break. Any natural things I can do? I don't think we have time/money right now for counseling, yoga classes, etc.

I suspect that the general background noise on the economy doesn't help any either - I am trying to cut back on news reading to help with that. We are in better shape than many people right now, in terms of hubby's job and debt, I guess I'm just feeling overwhelmed.

I guess I also just needed to tell it somewhere, and I really need a good cry, but I'm always on duty with the girls and the contractors are due back anytime now.

I took 5htp and fish oil which helped my anxiety/panic attacks a ton. 5htp is contoversial while bfing, but I felt comfortable with it since my dd was older (2). The huge true natural cure thread has lots of info.

Thank you, deditus. That was some thread, though!

So, I'm off to get some inositol, I already try to take cod liver oil. And I will try to be better about taking my vitamins as well. We'll also be adding more protein back into the diet - way too easy for to not watch the diet enough, esp as nursing toddlers grow and it seems less important...

I think the house will feel less like a money pit in another 6 months or year, as we get a lot of the issues out of the way - though I will say that having an old house nowadays with the newer asbestos regulations is not for the fainthearted, or thin of wallet. sigh.
