postpartum tummy binding

Has anyone tried this? I have been reading about it a few different places and it seems common in many cultures. You can buy a lot of binders on line. (I think Brooke Burke was even promoting one. LOL)

Anyway, wondering if anyone had any experience. Did it help? I went back to my prepregnancy size pretty quickly but the loose skin thing was an issue. Wondering if it would help or if there are any drawbacks.

Search this forum, there are a number of topics already on this. Tips and product advice, etc.

look for "belly binding"

i'm hoping to. My abs are still a bit split from my second pregnancy (not enough for surgery, but enough that I can tell) so I'm hoping the belly binding will help them weave together better.

thanks! I did search, but I think I used a different term. I'll try again.

well, still can't decide on which product if any to try. Has anyone tried the Medela Postpartum Support band? It seems to be the most affordable option. Or maybe I should just get a wide ACE bandage and go that route.

i wore a girdle for the first two weeks after i had ds. my abs went right back and quickly. it also helped me back a ton! and i used oil, (avalon organics kukui nut) and had no skin sagging whatsover!

I had the medela postpartum support and it was only snug for the first couple of days and I had the smallest size (I am not petite). So it was not useful for long. I used a waist cincher girdle thing in a large and then small as I shrank. They are not comfy, though. What I liked the best was just one of those thick velcro back braces sold around the weight lifting stuff at walmart, could of used it to be a little wider, but it worked. I am due with my 3rd in Nov and am planning on using all of the above, but am also considering sewing some of DH's old teeshirts into a long strip to wrap around myself, because it sounds really comfortable.

Oh, and the back support thing was really useful for doing crunches and helping to pull the abs back together. I had huge babies 10lb4 and 11lb1 gained around 38lbs and got abs back after each. knock on wood, I plan to with this one, too!
