Restoring supply on one side

Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas on this?

A few weeks back, I noticed that DD (who is now almost 5 months) was not happy nursing on my left side and getting fidgetty. I had a hard time keeping her interested in nursing for very long over there. (Maybe a minute or two.) After I fed her one time, I decided to pump on that side and nothing came out. My supply had totally tanked on that side.

So, since then I have been (1.) always starting her on that side and (2.) pumping for about 10 minutes on that side after each feeding. When I pump, there is nothing but a few drops that come out. My supply over there is better, but its still not great. My right breast has always made more milk, but its not back to where it was before. On top of it, the flow on the right side is much faster and baby likes that. That's probably contributed to the problem. (Her preference.)

What do you think will happen if I quit pumping on that left side, but I always start her on the left and made sure she empties it first? Is there any reason to continue to pump? As weird as this might sound, will stopping the pumping affect the other side's supply? Does anyone have any other magic solutions to get the supply better on that side?

Any ideas would be appreciated!

I decided to turn my 'fussy' side into my 'sleepy' side. Ds2 prefers to fall asleep on the left, and soon started to prefer the left for everything.

So I decided I would only nurse on the right during the nght, since he cared less about it then, and it did stimulate my supply on that side. nihttime hormones helped with that.

soon, when there was a nght he ddn't nurse much, I gave him that sde the next morning, and he was like, "Oh, there IS milk here!"

Maybe that would wkr for you?
