Farmer's market funny

My city just started a farmer's market last month. In the local paper, the reporter said that one of the farmers raises "vintage tomatoes". I had a good laugh when I saw that. I don't want to know what a vintage tomato tastes like. Of course, I'm assuming that he was talking about heirlooms.

I went to the FM a few weeks ago, and there was a farmer there (maybe the one mentioned in the article) selling heirloom tomatoes, but the sign said, "Old Skool Tomatoes".

I've seen some vintage tomatoes, and I wouldn't pay money for them!

One of my favorite photos I ever took was out in Seattle at the Pike Place Market. The one stand had a big pile of globe grapes and this cool little sign that said:

Big Ass Grapes
$2.99/lb

Too funny!

Nice! I'd totally have to talk to a vendor like that because I love the ones that have a good sense of humor.

I just pulled some vintage purple cherokees off the vine, and surely they wouldn't be worth money...well, maybe to a rat.

The best part? I was throwing them over a fence into the compost pile, and I hit the top of a white trellis with one. Now it looks like I drove a stake through someone/something!
