I think this is the right forum for this question?

I want to make Belgian waffles for the family. I used to have a great one from an estate sale, was older than I am, but it disappeared about the time I met my dh. I made lots of from-scratch waffles back then, and they were cheaper, tastier, and better for us. I want a new one and have been through 3 so far and returned them, not happy. Too many choices and none seem to be what I want. I know some of you mamas have one--can you recommend a brand/model/place to buy?

My requirements:
Works well! Seems obvious but some don't.
Removable plates for easier cleanup.
Nonstick so I don't have to use spray or anything (I think I used to season my old one like a cast iron skillet but not sure, it's been over a decade?).
A reasonable price (either at store or new on Ebay or whatever).

What I would also like:
Cool to touch exterior.
A "done" indicator light or whatever.

Would be nice but ?
One of those that reverses to a grill/sandwich maker. The ones I've looked at the reviews were poorly rated but I'm sure some must be good.

Any advice appreciated--thanks!!! :
