Woah mama, are you feeding her heavy cream?
I love it- chunky babies. So cute. I wonder what my baby weighs. He was 6.6 to start, and the last time he was weighed at 1 and half weeks, he was 7.2. Now I am going to the grocery store to find out his current weight. I used to weigh my dd that until she got to about 30 lbs and didn't fit on the scales right. We used to put her on the check out belt to weigh her too.

Thats cute! HEE HEE..

She is pretty chunky these days, already in most of her 3 month clothes and I am so happy to be using those infant prefolds and small thirsties covers..

Jilian- thanks. It's a relief, but every now and again I get a little freaked out that I am completely responsible for her growth and development. But then I realize how GREAT we are doing and I feel better!

Yay, Torre! (And Annalise!)

I am pretty impressed always by how fast newborns grow. My DD was 6.4 at birth 3 1/2 weeks ago and this weekend (which was her due date!) is up to close to 9 lbs. I weighed her at my MILs since we haven't been to the Dr. yet. Half again as much in just under a month! DS1 did something similar - DS2 was a slower grower, but started out a lb bigger than DS1, a pound and a half bigger than DD.

That's so awesome!!!

My ds1 lost 11 oz from when he was born to our first doc visit a few days later. Santiago was up 2 oz, so I was really excited about that.

It's so cool to see our bodies (and babies!) successfully doing what they were meant to do!

Do you offer both or one breast? I offer one. SHe nurses until she pops off and then wants more a few second later, I offer the same breast. That way she is getting all my hind milk. Then the next time she nurses I offer the opposite.... Not sure if that has anything to do with it????

I am sure your doing GREAT!!!!!

Unfortunately, I just make really low-fat milk so my kids stay really skinny until they wean, and then they gain a couple pounds and make it onto the charts! I'm always jealous of chunky breastfed babies

DS1 was always skinny while I BF. I weaned him at 22 months and he is now 29 months and has gained 3 pounds since then. (He is also drinking cows milk which he never would before then) But something must have changed with this baby.

My dd was very skinny, but I was on a low low fat diet since I was having gallbladder issues. Then I switched to high fat, and she chunked up really fast.

this time my baby is gaing weight really fast, and is chunking up. I eat a high fat diet (good quality kind), and this time around I learned that nettles infusions, and nuts ilke almonds enrich the milk , and help the baby to gain weight.

Good job! My babies gain more than a pound a week too.
