Great week! Can't wait to see Padma and Tom again and meet the new cheftestants! Wed. the 19th at 9pm!

ETA: I just read all the bios, and was happy to see the emphasis on local and sustainable foods. Looks like a pretty impressive group of chefs!

I've been waiting all summer for this! We have a tradition of making a special meal for the season premier. It'll be a blast, but haven't decided what to make yet! Only 2 more days!

Yay! My favorite show!

I love reality cooking shows, and Top Chef is my favorite. I always have chef-crushes (like Jamie from 5 and Blais from 4). I can't wait to "get to know" the new cheftestants. I'm kind of on the fence about judge Toby Young. Not too sure if I like him or not.

So far no one is standing out although the gal that won the quick fire challenge and the guy who gave up a full scholarship to MIT to cook are very promising.

I liked Wolfgang Puck's comments. I hope they keep that British judge Toby out of the competition this season. Puck is definitely funnier.

Padma looked really great in that red dress, didn't she? It's great to see her, Tom, and Gail back. :

Did *not* like the guy Mike (not the brother, the other one) who kept making misogynistic comments...

Urgh, my DVR only taped the last 20 mins! I watching it anyway even though it spoiled the ending for me. Now I have to wait until it tapes a re-run to see it! Augh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh I couldn't stand him as soon as he made that comment about the quick fire. I was hoping he would be going home but from the judges' comments it sounds like he can cook- I bet he'll be around for awhile.

Hi from another minivan driving mama in SFL!

I couldn't stand Mike either. It's a shame he can cook.

I do hate that the show is a bit formulaic. You can usually tell who is going to be in the bottom or go home. It's not as bad as ANTM, thank goodness!

I'm liking this season so far. I like the new "lucky" aspects to it. So cool! I wanted to throw something at the TV when Mike was talking. Grrrrrr.

Can I just say, personally, I'm reeeeeally going to enjoy this season. Ashley- so cute! PREETI? HOT HOT HOT!!!

That is all.
