Well, here we go! It's just started and I cannot wait to find out who it is! I really think it should be Kevin!

anyone else surprised last night?

A little, but then again this is the first time I have really liked all three, so I wasn't going to be disappointed.

That being said, he was probably my 3rd pick of the 3, but it is all good.

I usually cook a big dinner before TC so we aren't drooling. Tonight we are having meatloaf, mashed potatoes and peas, not very creative but there is snow everywhere here and I wasn't going to make a big grocery trip.

The glaze for the meatloaf turned out really yummy. Dd ate herself sick.

We have ice cream, popcorn and some chocolate to eat during finale.
We usually cook AFTER the show, like the upcoming weekend because we are inspired. We ate for the final our usual, popcorn and a dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives.

I wanted KEvin to win, but I had picked both of the brothers to go to the final. IMHO, I think all 3 of the finalists are top chefs but yes only one can get the crown. The reason the winner got it was he is the most creative and talented of the bunch which is a lot to say in the company of the other two.

I was hoping for 1-Brian, 2-Kevin, 3-Michael.

I was hoping Bryan or Kevin would win but I think any of them deserved it.

I really did like this lower drama season. It was so nice to see the contestants supporting each other and backing each other up.

The thing I've always liked about the final round of Top Chef seasons I've seen is that it has seemed like a no (or at least low) gimmicks "here's your kitchen, now just cook" way to end the series. I was kind of bummed last night about the mystery box, the late addition of the "mom" course, the gamble of getting questionable sous chefs, etc. Since I haven't seen all the seasons I don't know if they've done that before, but I kind of wish they wouldn't, at any rate.

I was really pulling for Kevin because I really liked his approach to the world. That said, any of the three of them deserved to win and they are all really talented guys. I did appreciate the viewpoints on the judges blogs and always feel like I don't really understand what happened until I read them as well as watch the show. I thought the editing for judges table was awful last night and left me really confused.

That was my pick too.

I didn't want Michael to win because he's just not a nice person. He's been pretty wretched in his treatment of others this season and I hate to see that rewarded.

Brian and Kevin just seemed like such nice people and since they could all cook their hineys off, I wanted one of the nice guys to win.

thats how I felt, but I was hoping for 1 Kevin 2 Bryan 3 Michael

From what we saw, it did seem like the right choice for the night. It seemed to be Kevin's worst night. And Bryan's food was just bland.

I did feel all 3 were worthy, but have been rooting for Kevin the whole time. I was sorry to see him not blow everyone away for the finale! I thought Bryan would be #2, and was again sorry to see his food was bland.

Overall I wasnt that impressed by the finale. There have been some shows where I felt like WOW the food looks great!!! (like Pigs n' Pinot I seem to remember) and this week I felt like, ugh, doesn't look incredibly appetizing.

I agree, I was really confused about judges' table. They didn't even talk amongst themselves about all the dishes in depth, or ask the final 3 about all of their dishes.

I'm sorry not to have Top Chef I will miss it!

It seems more often than not with Top Chef, when the-not-so-nice cheftestant wins, I have to remind myself that most chefs aren't so nice! Personality and likeability certainly don't seem to factor in much at judges' table. I was really disappointed when Kevin didn't win, but I missed most of the finale and the prior challenge where the woman went home. Once I saw that footage I understood why Michael won and Kevin didn't. So I'll be a good sport and say he deserved to win (his brother should have won the car, though, just to be fair.)
