You need to get rid of the bottles. That's a huge part of the problem. If you MUST supplement, do so in another manner- cup feeding, syringe feeding, sns etc ( www.kellymom.com has lots of options listed)
good luck! -Angela |
Like you said, baby could be teething also. Is baby drooling a lot? My daughter got 2 teeth by the time she reached 4 months. But she was drooling buckets and biting at things for about 1-2 months before they finally broke through her gums.
It's great that you are planning on spending time skin to skin! You and baby will love that and it's great for your supply. Also, look for Lactate Support made by Gaia at your local health food store or online. It increases supply quickly (1-2 days) and it's the only thing that worked for me and I was told I have insufficient glandular tissue and PCOS. At almost 7 months we are still nursing wonderfully.
I know how you are feeling. I felt the same way for the first few months. Know that A LOT of us are going through and/or have gone through the same things -- you are not alone. I want to give you big hugs and send you good vibes!!! For both you and baby!! You'll be done with this difficult phase before you know it Mama, but in the mean time believe in yourself and your baby and take it one day at a time!
Let baby nurse on demand, ditch the bottles, and pump if you have any free time when baby sleeps to stimulate production. Good luck Mama!
