mandoline suggestions?

I love to cook and because of allergies, I make almost everything by hand.

I think it is time to invest in a mandoline. I would love to buy a cheaper kind. Oxo sells one but I haven't read good reviews of it.

Does anyone have a mandoline that they love? what is the brand?

It's not technically a mandoline, but it's the same premise... I have a Feemster's Slicer. The bonus is that they're only about $10, and it's way more adjustable than your average mandoline. The drawback being that it's much easier to cut yourself with because the blade is not surrounded by a housing.

But I can cut anything from a paper thin eggplant to 1/2 inch planks of potato with it.

wow that really looks nice.
Certainly not something my six year old can use, only for me.

thanks

I will strongly consider it.
