What's the difference between a side snapping fitted diaper vs a front snapping one? Pros/cons of each? Or does it really matter?

It seems like most side-snapping diapers tend to be trimmer than front snaps. Less overlapping fabric I guess.
My only concern with side-snapping diapers is they look like they might be uncomfortable to sleep in if the baby/toddler is on their side - my DD is a real side-sleeper. I would think most of the diapers are too trim to be overnight diapers, but for naps, etc, maybe? I have no evidence for this though.
I also found them a bit fiddlier to put on - but not much.

I agree that side snapping diapers are usually trimmer. Also, they work really well for getting a good fit on children that have a skinny waist but chunky thighs. I have found that many people say they are a little bit more confusing to snap than front snapping, but for some reason I always found the opposite to be true. I had a much easier time with the side snapping...maybe because it is less snaps?

I have been wondering about this too... are there any good side snapping pockets or fitteds out there that you guys recommend trying?

My favorite side snapping pockets are Knickernappies (they even have OS ones now). My favorite ss fitteds usually come from Hyena Cart - Blackbird Lane was my favorite (don't make those anymore
) but I really like Arabesque baby as well. Dream-eze also has a pretty absorbant organic cotton fitted.

I am very into my babykicks organic fitted right now. It is side snapping, which I prefer, and I also love the natural fibers. I was lucky to pick one up @ a local shop to try (they don't technically come out until next month)... But it is by far my favorite. It is the trimmest and most absorbant of everything in my stash, which includes all the big names and then some. I stuff it with 2 joeybunz, and didn't even need a cover.
