Hm, well I can't say as to the skirt kind because I've never tried them. I tend to gain weight in my belly and I have a small flat bottom. When I'm heavier the shorts don't cut in to my belly fat as much and the boy cut emphasizes what little rear end I have

a cheaper way than useing a trimmer is to use a razor to cut off long hair. i take my razor, pull the hair taut, and then smash them together in a way that i can't quite describe, but perfectly trims the hair. i've never cut my fingers or yoni area with this technique.

this may sound really weird, but i also have tweezed the outer bikini area since i was about 12. i don't get ingrown hairs this way, like with razors, and it keeps me smooth for longer.

just my 2 cents!

Shaving or not, I had a lot of issues with ingrown hairs that would become problematic and grossly infected. Always made me feel unclean and nasty - not good in that region!

It did cost around $1000 when all was said and done (can't remember, $x amount per visit) but I will say that while it took me a good 5-6 treatments, even after just TWO, I could have easily gotten away with wearing skimpy bikinis to my heart's content.... and had about a 75% reduction in the ingrown hair / infection department.

Well worth the investment. I'm not a wealthy girl and I still find this to be money very well spent (over waxing and other expensive cover ups). JMHO.

And I can say now, I truly don't remember the last time I shaved! :

Good luck!
YinYang, I am seriously considering laser treatment for my underarms and bikini area.
How painful is it to get it done? Is it more painful than a bikini wax?

I usually wear board shorts with a bikini top. I do tend to keep that area trimmed up a bit in the summer time. I also look for bikini/suit bottoms that are wide enough in the crotch to hold whatever I don't trim off back.

I usually just wear shorts over regular underwear and a longish tankini top, so I am basically all covered up.

I just keep my trimmed down really neatly with little scissors, and if I need to, I use this inexpensive little bikini line/beard trimmer, and just trim it down nice and smooth, never any red bumps!

But honestly, I never wear swimsuits. I own one bikini top, and just wear cut off jean shorts.

me too. However this summer I got a skirt bottom. Shavings such a hassle! And I can't afford waxing anymore!
