Best part is, I sold half of them at market. I thought I'd have trouble, but they were so darn pretty, people didn't blink at $1.80 a pound. :

Those are beautiful! Are the ones in the bottom right black crims? I have some and they are so flavorful!

They are beautiful! I want to come to your farmer's market, tomatoes were $3/pound at ours last weekend.

ACK! $7.99/lb here in the local food section of our grocery store - tis why I grow my own. Those are beauties!!! We've had such wacky weather here that I'll be surprised if I get some maters.

excuse me while I silently drool

Gorgeous, congrats on the beauties and on the sales!

Also, $7.99 a pound for tomatoes in summer?!? Eek! I though prices here were bad!

I think the "black" ones are either black prince or purple calabash. My signs faded in the sun and I had some that were very similar.

Trust me, I'd love to sell them for more, but I have to match prices with Farmer Dave. I overpriced him by 25 cents, b/c my selection is much better. But here, people are so cheap they complain about the price of everything. These are the same people that are now complaining about how their plants they bought at Walmart for $1 died from blight while my beauties they claimed were overpriced at $4 are setting up bumper crops with no problem at all!

Oh man I looked at that pic last month and it was gorgeous and its even prettier now. Thanks for the tomato porn.

Next year I beg of all the gods of farming that I will have a tomato crop as pretty as that one. No more community garden for me. I'm building sqare foot garden boxes here and composting till spring. *crosses fingers*

Well, glad you liked it, because that was about the extent of my tomato glory. Every week got a smaller & smaller harvest, and now even the cherries - the cherries! - seem to be about finished. Bad year for tomatoes here, all around.

Now, hot peppers on the other hand, I have them coming out the wazoo! I'm going to start leaving them on people's doorsteps in the dead of night like they're zucchinis or something!
