Just checking to see if there are any playgroups in the Northend? I'm a very new mom, 10 days, nursing at home for at least 6 months and me and my baby are looking for some company during the day to drink tea, chat, compare challenges etc. I look forward to hearing from anyone.

I'm not in the Northend, but I wanted to say congratulations on your new baby!!!! Hope nursing is going well. I know the first few weeks were challenging for me.

I'm not aware of where the playgroups and such are in the North End, but you're always welcome at the South End playgroup that this thread was started for. Also, definitely check out the library programs. LLL meetings are another great place to meet other moms, the closest meetings to you would be the Halifax group, which meets on St. Andrew's Ave.

Congrats on the new baby! I don't know of any playgroups in the North End, but I just moved to the North End. My kids are a little older than yours though. I have a 2.5 year old boy and a 5.5 year old girl. I'd be interested in a North End playgroup too.

More congrats on the new baby!

The only playgroup I know of in the north end is at Veith House on Friday mornings - there are details here. We've been going to it the past few weeks and it's nice - not a lot of kids, which suits my son, and lots of toys!

There's also playgroups at churches in the west end - one on Summit and one on Chebucto. If you're interested in those details, let me know.

Wondering when the next playgroup is on. Just moved to the area a couple of weeks ago (from near Toronto) and would love to hang out!! My husband is touring for a week so I'm alone with the 3 kids until next Saturday. Heck, if anyone just wants to invite our crazy 4-some out for tea, I'm SOO needing a friend!

Oh yah, I should mention the ages of my kiddos. Ds1 - 4, ds2 - 2, dd3 - 1...yes we're a busy bunch but I love it!! )) I guess I should mention my age too huh? I'm 34.

Heh, 3sofar, don't worry about it - I am actually quite use to it! Though I don't know what stuff that's normally on tomorrow is cancelled for tomorrow - I need to figure out a way to sort that out better on the calendar because the software I'm using for it doesn't allow exceptions to weekly dates very well! Hopefully someone from here will respond about whether this playgroup is happening tomorrow - I think it probably is.

I have a 4 year old boy (just the one - totally lazy compared to you!) - wanna come and play with us on Wed? I'm trying to get other moms together with 3-5 year olds (and siblings, of course) for a playdate. I'm thinking this week of meeting at Local Jo's on Oxford Street (a coffee shop with a small kid area) or if a lot of people are coming we'd probably move it to my house, which is just a few minute walk away from LJ's. Anyhow, if you are interested, let me know!

Yup, there's playgroup tomorow. And in case you haven't read back a few pages and come across the detailed directions, we use the entrance on Tobin Street that's farthest from Queen Street. Ring the bell and if there's no answer ring again and again, sometimes the bell is twitchy, and sometimes it's noisy inside.

The way to find out is to ask here. I'm not sure who has the keys anymore, but generally if Charlene says it's going on, then it's going on! Charlene, does Cassie still have the keys?

Just wanted to say thanks so much for the warm welcome today. I was pretty excited to meet some of you! My kids had a great time with 2 separate areas to play in! Thanks, as well, for the food that someone provided. I'll have to pitch in next time.

LLL Consignment Sale

Sale will be held at the Bloomfield Centre Gym (at Agricola and Almon)

The deadline for registering to consign stuff (baby/ kid clothes to size 6, maternity clothes, toys etc) is May 18, and we are taking donations too.

Holiday Monday Playgroup

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let everyone know that we will be having playgroup on May 19.

We'll try to be there on the 19th I think--we don't get to playgroup too often anymore.

Just wanted to ask if anyone has a maternity bathing suit I could borrow? I truly can no longer wear my own swimsuit, and just can't bring myself to buy one that will only last me a few months. I also can't imagine being pregnant through the summer without being able to go swimming. Anyone got one they're not using that might fit me?
