Halifax Playgroup - Page 103

Hey everyone! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. We've had a busy summer with our new little one, and with Rayne now settled back in school things are calming down a bit. It's exciting reading the posts of all the new babies that have arrived and are on the way.

Can someone post the address/times for the playgroup - is it still at the church? I've got an acquaintance who has just adopted a 2 year old in the area and he and his girlfriend are having a hard time finding some social activities for them all. Mom would love to make some play dates, but isn't having much luck finding other mom groups in the area. I'd like to pass along the playgroup info in hopes that she can connect with someone there, particularly before the winter hits. I know how much harder it is to get out then! :

Thanks so much!!

Hey Tamara, nice to hear from you!

Fort Massey United Church, on the corner of Queen and Tobin Streets, third door along Tobin Street, ring the bell (ring again if there's no answer the first time) Mondays from 11-1.

PM me if your friend would like my phone/e-mail.

Has anyone located organic bed sheets in town? Or know of a Cdn company with reasonable prices? We bought C a wool mattress from Shepherd's Dream and I'd like some better sheets to go on it.

Thanks!

Haven't looked in ages. You could always try selling locally on kijiji. Might be less hassle.

I think I likely will. I haven't used Kijiji before Time to get my feet wet

How are you doing Alison? How much longer??

Not bad. I'm off work now, about three weeks officially to go til due date. Still, I'm glad to be on vacation right now, got a cold, and really just needed to rest!

Wow! You are almost there! I hope little one has a ton of wool knit up for him/her! Did you ever get to use your Elbee number?

I was going to, I got the forms and everything, but I just can't justify the cost! I'm thinking I might just order 3 or something, as a splurge, but to order the whole dozen, I just couldn't do it.

And yes, I've got a couple of pairs of longies, and 4 or 5 soakers knit up. If only I could remember where I'd put them!

Alison I just saw your new siggy!! Congratulations!!!! ::
I thought you were having a boy. How did that happen

Enjoy this wonderful time!

I can't believe it is Christmas parade time again, but here it is! We have always gone to the Halifax parade. Has anyone gone to the Bedford parade of lights? Is it as good as Halifax? We are just thinking a change might be nice. Where would a good spot to see the parade in Bedford be? And I have no idea about parking

Krista, we didn't know what we were having, but The Boy insisted it was his brother Trevor. He was wrong! She's 4 weeks old now. And hungry!

Ahh! That's cute! What did you name her? Not Trevor I'm guessing

Hello ladies,
I'm a new member currently living in Calgary but soon moving to Halifax. I'm sure I'll be looking to attend some playgroups once there but just thought I'd start hanging out here for some familiarity with names etc. I have an almost 3 yr old son and another one to come in April.

Hello, pleased to meet you! When are you moving here? I'm afraid this thread is a little quiet at the moment since most of the people who go to playgroup don't check the thread, but if there's anything you want to know, just ask, I'll do what I can to get some answers.

Thanks! We're moving sometime in February and I'm due in April..eek. It's nice to know that the playgroup is thriving even though this thread isn't. Anyway, thanks for responding and I hope to meet some of you in person soon. :

Just updating the calendar on hrmparent.ca and wanted to check that the playgroup is still continuing? I need to get down there myself at some point!

Cheers!

Hello

Hi. We are relatively new to Halifax and I am on mat leave and hoping to meet some mamas and play buddies for my ds. I think I have finally gotten myself organized enough with 2 lo that I will be able to do some playgroups (this one is at a great time!). Looking forward to meeting everyone. Have a happy snowy day!:
