Titus is here! I also have a question...

First off, Titus Liam Micah was born on August 11th. He was 7 lbs 2 oz and 21 1/2 in long. I went through about 36 hours of labor (including early labor), 18 hours of which were after my water broke. I only pushed for 45 minutes though thankfully and I didn't tear. All in all it was very exhausting but very worth it. I can't imagine him not being here.

It's been a slow recovery and I haven't really had time to get on, but I really need some help figuring out what to do for postpartum vitamins. Any suggestions? I was going to do the Sound Formulas After Baby Boost, but it's too expensive. I saw something called Mother's Blend. Has anyone ever tried this or heard of it? What are you all doing for postpartum health? I appreciate any and all suggestions, because I'm just about out of my prenatals. Thanks so much!

::: Congrats!! :::

I personally just keep taking the same whole-food multi-vit that I always take. I didn't take anything special for pregnancy either.

Congrats and wow on staying strong through the long birth! Enjoy your babymoon! :

I take the same generic prenatal vitamin while breastfeeding/postpartum that I take while TTC and pregnant. Which means I've been taking these vitamins for about 5 years now!

Any prenatal vitamin should "work" for the postpartum period too, though you may need some extra iron (postpartum anemia is pretty common)... floradix makes a nice/gentle iron supplement but double check that the vitamin you take doesn't also have iron. You don't want too much! I think that if you can maintain a balanced diet of frsh whole foods then the vitamin is just a safety net filling in any gaps. So I wouldn't worry too much about finding the "perfect" vitamin... just focus on feeding yourself (and your babe through you) a wide variety of whole foods and take whichever vitamin you prefer.

Congratulations!

I don't take a prenatal or multi vitamin. I take Vitamin C, fish oil/flaxseed oil, and a B complex.

I'm not into vitamins but I've heard good things about the Earth Mama Angel Baby postpartum tea (which strangely they've now changed the name to "Monthly Comfort" tea). That's what I'm planning on using.

Congrats on your little one! :::
