Dog bowls and toddlers

Rescued a black lab! So happy. But these toddler twins won't keep their hands out of his water bowl. Any ideas?

Maybe try one of those water bowls that attaches to the crate door? Won't help with the immediate problem but since the kids should stay away from his crate anyway at least then you'll only have one "hot spot" to supervise.

Hmm, what if you gave them their own water bowls to play with and re-direct? Or I would just block off the area where you are keeping the dog's things until they lose their fascination.

Keep the bowls up most of the time, and only bring them down occasionally when you think puppy needs a drink and your able to supervise toddlers?? Or keep it in an area that somehow the puppy can get to but the toddlers can't?

Eventually the fun will wear off. Just keep some towels handy to clean up the spills.

I couldn't figure out a way to keep water always available for the dogs and still away from my toddler. My solution was simply to stop making a big deal out of it. It seemed like the more I made it a 'taboo' thing, the more she wanted to play in it. I finally just put a towel under the dog bowl to soak up the spills and cleaned up after she was done playing in it. Eventually the novelty wore off.
