Frequently Asked Questions-Allergies

Hey, I had an idea. What if we identify the 10 (or 25) most common newbie questions. And create a thread for each, to answer them from many perspectives. Then we could see about stickying them at the top of the forum.

I'll link them here as we go along.

Great idea!

I know that some of my first questions were about all the abbreviations and the different tests available.

If need to remove a food from your child's diet, do you need to remove all of it, even the tiny bits? How about in the breastfeeding mamas diet?

I believe that old threads could be opened by sending a request via PM to a moderator, if there is one that really interests you.

We cannot sticky 25 threads.

We do have a list of resources at the top of forums and we could edit those to ad some more links

Here is the allergy resource thread.

Where to start? Help 101 is my fave thread. If I ever start feeling overwhelmed, I go back to read it again and breathe deeply. In the thread it says it's in the resources sticky, but I don't see it there.

I meant one thread with links to the 25. I understand 25 stickies would fill up the whole forum with stickies. But, it is easy to hunt for a long thread regarding a common question. I figure I can do that and post it to the OP.

Kinds of questions I've seen a lot of:

1) is xxxx symptom possibly allergies? What do I do now?

2) what the heck do I eat now that I can't do xxx (generally people dealing with their first couple of food eliminations)

3) is my doctor telling me something dumb, it doesn't feel right

4) birthday cakes without all the usual ingredients

5) how long before eliminating foods will make a difference

6) how do I deal with people who don't get it
