Frequently Asked Questions- Health and Healing

Hey, I had an idea. What if we identify the 10 (or 25) most common newbie questions. And create a thread for each, to answer them from many perspectives. Then we could see about stickying them at the top of the forum.

I'll link them here as we go along.

My child of whatever age has an ear infection, what do I do?

I/my child/my spouse has a sore throat, is it strep? If it is strep, what do I do?

My baby has a cold (more specific to infants, a child's first cold) what do I do? When do I worry, how can I help them get well?

For adults, I'm so tired all the time, what's going on?

What is this rash?

Is this coughing illness pertussis? What should I do if it is?

The fall/winter/school/cold season is coming, what can I do to help keep the family healthy (in a preventative sense)?

Feel free to re-word any of that.

I'm not sure how to word it exactly, but I think we need a specific thread about childhood fevers, separate from the general "cold" thread. When fever is a sign of something serious that needs treatment, and when to just let the fever take its course and stop worrying.

How to treat teething pain (which goes hand in hand with not having infant tylenol or motrin in the house since you're not medicating fevers.)

How do I treat anemia?

What is the possible cause of my fatigue/my body suddenly falling apart/my mysterious symptoms?

My child has reflux--what can I do to help him/her?

I believe that old threads could be opened by sending a request via PM to a moderator, if there is one that really interests you.
